• Sony's DARS-MP tape is created through an advanced coating process that aligns the metal particles in the magnetic layer diagonally. Diagonal orientation helps the tape record smaller wavelengths, because the particles are aligned in a direction that more accurately follows the magnetization pattern of the recording head. This new process allows for maximum performance from DTRS format modular digital multitrack recorders.
• A new binder system improves tape durability and lowers drop-outs, especially during overdubs when tape is frequently shuttled
